Blending and Braiding Funding for Full-Service Community Schools

Attention: State and District Leaders, School Administrators, Educators, Student Support Personnel, Parents, and Education Stakeholders

The U.S. Department of Education is hosting a webinar series to address hot topics that are on the top of educators’ minds. After sharing federal updates, the series features lessons learned and best practices from faculty, staff, schools, districts, institutions of higher education, and other places of educational instruction. It also shares a variety of useful resources.

On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Safe and Supportive Schools, the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE) invites you to join our next webinar, Blending and Braiding Funding for Full-Service Community Schools.

Wednesday, April 26, 2023

3:00-4:30 pm EST

America’s public schools have been working to ensure the healthy development and academic achievement of our young people for decades. More recently our schools have been focused on addressing additional needs of students, such as physical and mental health needs. Schools cannot address the needs of the whole young person alone but must work in collaboration with community resources. Full-Service Community Schools work in partnership with community-based organizations, the private sector, and in public partnerships to provide wraparound services to all students. They have been shown to contribute to increased student attendance, on-time grade progression, and high school graduation.

In this webinar, our speakers will describe the Full-Service Community Schools model, discuss key elements of the approach, and share information on how communities and schools can leverage diverse funding streams to support the development and implementation of the Full-Service Community Schools approach.
