The March Youth Visioning Workgroup meeting was filled with exciting updates and upcoming initiatives! The meeting then moved on to discuss upcoming initiatives. The May Mental Health Month Youth Art and Film Showcase, which is part of the Mental Health Festival, was discussed, and it was announced that it would take place on May 6th. The Mountain Play into the Woods event on May 21 was also discussed, with free admission for youth under 26 and free transportation provided by shuttle. One of the Youth Visioning Workgroup members, Scarlett, introduced Caring Cards, which is a card with local art from last year's mental health artwork, a quote, and a list of resources. These cards will be given to those leaving an IC facility or ER, healthcare workers, and those in jail. The group discussed the need for Spanish translators and readers and other organizations or programs to give cards to

Another member, Collin, introduced ODFree Marin, which will be tabling at the San Rafael Farmers Market every third Sunday. Volunteers were needed for April 16th, and shifts would be split. Sign up here!

Lastly, the group discussed what they liked about youth visioning, which included meeting new people, learning more about the community and where they live, and experiencing new perspectives. Opportunities for improvement were also discussed, such as consistent monthly meeting times, more communication outside of meetings, a clear idea of what the group is doing, and more structure. Most importantly Marin 9 to 25’s Youth Advisory Team was put together and will be meeting next month!
