2024 Art & Film Showcase Recap
The May Mental Health Art and Film Showcase is an annual event highlighting awareness and conversations around mental health and well-being within Marin by sharing youth art and perspective. This event is in collaboration with the Marin County Youth Commission's Wellness Festival. Art of all mediums is accepted for our showcase which acts as a hub for art from partner organizations like the high schools, middle schools, Youth in Arts, and so many more!
We want to thank everyone who submitted their incredible art for this year’s showcase at the Wellness Festival on May 11th. This event allowed us to develop a new outreach strategy to bring art workshops directly to community organizations serving youths. We had over 350 art submissions and collaborated with 12 different organizations. These contributions helped foster awareness and sparked greater discussions about youth mental health and well-being within Marin. Through a wide array of photography, painting, digital art, poetry, sculpture, dance, music, and video, we were able to showcase a great variety of art, making this event extremely meaningful and inspiring. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this event!
Dhanya Subramanian, a co-lead of this event shared the amazing progress that that this festival has seen, “This year we tripled the submission count. The showcase was a huge success, and the space truly looked and felt like a real art gallery. It was my first time leading the team with my co-lead Jessica, and I'm so excited for next year’s showcase with more art and more community!”
